Abstract
Corporal punishment is one way of upbringing and discipline children that it has been used by parents and Supervisors of children over the centuries and there are still children who have fear and experience violence. Researches indicate that corporal punishment is an important factor in the development of violent attitudes and actions and it has a devastating impact on a childhood and man life. It prevents the positive growth of children and the establishment proper norms of discipline. Furthermore, beating children as a dangerous factor can be cause physical and psychological harms and even death to children. Thus it violates the child constitutional rights such as inherent dignity. Nevertheless, corporal punishment is a legal and common practice in many countries and sometimes from religion is used to justify the validity of it. So to solve this concern and global problem, we should identify its factors and roots and then take measures to eliminate all forms of it. This paper is an attempt to explain the causes and consequences of corporal punishment on children and to express solutions to combating with it.
