چکیده

من درمقاله خود، این پرسش را به عنوان نقطه آغاز بحث خود انتخاب می نمایم: دین چه نسبتی با بنیانها، مفاهیم و ارزشهای حقوق بشر دارد؟ من این پرسش را به عنوان یک نمونه خاص از رابطه بین دین و حقوق بشر در اثر یورگِن هابِرماس (Jurgen Habermas) میدانم که میپرسد آیا رابطه ای بین دین و مبانی حقوق بشر وجود دارد؟ استدلال من این است که اگر منظور ما از حقوق بشر همان چیزی است که در اثر اخیر هابِرماس مطرح گردیده، آنگاه رابطه ای اندک یا ناچیز بین دین و حقوق بشر می تواند وجود داشته باشد. یا دین میتواند کمکی اندک یا ناچیز به بحث حقوق در جوامع چند فرهنگی بنماید، و یا باید منشائی دیگر برای حقوق بشر یافت.

چکیده English

In my paper, I take as a specific example of the relationship between religion and human rights in the work of Jürgen Habermas, asking if there is any possible relationship between religion and the foundations of human rights. I argue that if we mean by human rights what has been taken from Jürgen Habermas’s recent work, then there can be little or no relationship between religion and human rights. Either religion can contribute little or nothing to the discussion of rights in multicultural societies, or another formulation for the origin of human rights must be found.
